South African Railways GMA/M class 4-8-2+2-8-4 Beyer-Garratt No. 4057 powers a freight train at Koringland on the Machadodorp – Breyten route, Eastern Transvaal - 16th June 1968. This loco had been built under licence by Henschel & Sohn under works number 28686/1953 but displays the lowprofile chimney style, which was locally designed to allow fitment within the loading gauge of a smoke-cowl, when being employed on sections with long tunnels.
