A.E. „Dusty“ Durrant

A freight train behind South African Railways class 15F 4-8-2 locomotive No. 2949 crosses the bridge over the Vaal River near Vereeniging, which defines the northern boundary of the Orange Free State – July 1968. A member of the early series, introduced in 1938 as a further development of the previous 15E design but with Walschaerts valve gear, it had been built by the North British Locomotive Company under Hyde Park, Glasgow works numbers 24489/1938.
